Greg Groth: Schwinn Kustom Woody Trike
This is a three-wheeler I made back in 1990.  Bike was used as an "eye-grabber" that we parked in front of the shop I worked at. Bike started as a 24" Schwinn Breeze that had been converted to a 3-wheeler with a conversion kit.  From info I have gathered these kits predated the Schwinn Town & Country, and haven't been sold in quite some time.  Wheels were relaced to 26" Schwinn S-2 rims (105 ga. NOS in rear, 80 ga. repop in front).  Tires are 26 X 2.2, rear and 26 X 2.0, front.  Rear hub is Bendix yellow-band kickback.  Front hub is an old Union drum brake I had laying around.  Spring fork is a repop.  Brake lever is an old Dia-Compe SS-5. Stake bed is homemade out of scrap wood, and weighs a ton  Unseen on bottom are two wrought iron shelf brackets to help support the bed.  EL Cheapo riser ATB bars, grips, seat and pedals finish it off.  Bike has seen duty in the St. Pat's Day Parade in Chicago, and is currently retired, collecting dust in my garage rafters.
