Dov Jelen is a sculptor/digital artist who happened into building these things as a conceptual art thing. When he built his first chopper trike (Bottom Left), it was a kind of play on the visigoth image that chopper motos convey. By building a radical pedal-driven tricycle, he was bringing the image into a childish, non-threatening,  perspective. It was pretty successful as a piece of conceptual sculpture. Then, I think, he discovered that riding on the thing was a pretty cool way of meeting the
